We are looking for a Teaching Pastor. We’re The Meeting Place, a downtown church located in the heart of Winnipeg. You’re a person who senses a God-given calling to a vocation of Christian service. You have the gift of teaching and are able to articulate a theology and philosophy of ministry.
The Teaching Pastor is responsible to lead and champion our mission, vision and values in two specific areas: our Main Stage Team and our Teaching Team.
The Main Stage Team: This team is responsible for planning and implementing our Sunday morning gatherings and special services. You’ll provide this team of staff with spiritual formation, investing in personal growth and competency through regular meetings. You’ll set strategic goals in collaboration with the Lead Pastor to develop, implement and evaluate your ministry activity. You’ll also have a hand in recruiting, equipping and encouraging volunteers.
The Teaching Team: You’ll provide this team of staff and volunteers with a theological framework and mentoring for teaching in our Sunday morning services and Tuesday night at YOU AT TMP gatherings, in collaboration with the Lead Pastor. You will teach 20 Sundays per year. You’ll also spend time researching and purchasing teaching resources.
This role also requires pastoral and administrative duties. Pastoral duties may include pastoral care, facilitating support groups, pre-marriage counseling, conflict resolution, officiating baptisms, weddings, funerals, interments, prayer and home/hospital visits. Administrative duties include timely communication with staff and volunteers, scheduling volunteers, preparing agendas, managing a budget and annual performance evaluations.
This is a fulltime (40hr/week) position – we are open to hiring at less hours if you’re pursuing theological studies. You’re required to be credentialed by the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba.
Interviews start immediately. Please send your cover letter with resume to Tami Duff (office manager) at tduff@themeetingplace.mb.ca.
