We were not created to 'do life' alone . . . but with others in community. In TMP 'mini communities' of people (aka life groups) gather throughout the week.
How big are TMP life groups? The average is 8-10 people but can range from 3 - 15 people.
Are there different types of groups? Yes! Lots of options are available including: singles, couples, mixed, intergenerational, stage of life specific (e.g., parents of young kids), age specific (e.g., 20s), or language specific (e.g., Portuguese).
Where do life groups meet? Mostly in homes but sometimes in coffee shops or other community places. All over the city (and beyond the perimeter highway) groups get together.
How often do life groups meet? Most groups meet every week or biweekly; some meet once a month. Some groups meet throughout the summer and others take a summer break but get together for BBQs and other fun times.
What typically happens in life groups? Although each group's 'flavour' is unique most life group evenings start with informal conversation ("How was your week?") and food. You can count on reading some part of the bible and praying together. Some groups study a book of the bible, others watch a video teaching, and others might serve as a group. And there's always opportunity to share about yourself, receive prayer, and get to know others. When you're sick or going through a crisis expect to receive support from your life group. Our life groups aren't perfect but it's our way of 'doing life together.'
